A Note From Our Leadership on COVID-19

Leadership's note originally published on March 16, 2020.

Over the past few months, we have all seen the extent to which COVID-19 has impacted across the globe.

The impact of this within many business sectors will have significant consequences, and, as such, The Reading House as part of the Ulverscroft Group is approaching this from both a people and a business continuity perspective. The Ulverscroft Group is fortunate in that it is strongly placed to face the operational and financial challenges that COVID-19 will present.

Contingency planning meetings with key people within Publishing, Marketing, Sales, Customer Services and both Digital and Physical Operations have identified ways in which we can ensure we are able to work with customers.

At a time when so much isolation is necessary to at least flatten the spread of COVID-19, we are committed to doing all we can to assist customers in continuing to keep you informed of forthcoming titles; to experience the passion we have for the titles we publish and all that goes into making those titles available. We will encourage customers to engage with each other in talking about the books they are reading.

Isolation doesn’t need to result in being isolated.

In summary:

We will not:
Compromise on the standard of our titles.

We will not:
Compromise on the quality of our products.

We will not:
Compromise on the level of our Customer Services support.

Ulverscroft has been serving libraries since 1964. That will continue.

If you need us, we are here.

Yours sincerely,

Michele Petty
Managing Director
